The Money engine issues srUSD, Strata’s stable digital settlement unit, and serves as the control plane that gates supply across the whole system. It is a fork of Liquity v1, extended with a global money-policy controller.

The instruments

  • Collateralized digital dollar, backed by tokenized silver reserves
  • Redeemable 1:1 for USDC on-chain
  • Non-yield-bearing (deliberately, to avoid securities classification)
  • Not a deposit or liability of any entity
  • Non-redeemable for the underlying collateral — only for USDC
  • Uses: settlement, collateral, credit
Launch capacity: ~250MsrUSDand 250M srUSD and ~50M srSILVER.

Why non-yield-bearing

srUSD pays no yield by design. A non-yield-bearing, fully-redeemable settlement unit avoids being characterized as a security or a deposit, which keeps it usable as neutral settlement and collateral across every Strata engine.

The control plane

Every engine that can affect srUSD supply routes through a global money-policy controller and engine registry, which enforce caps, throttles, and issuance gating. This is why Money is described as the system’s control plane rather than just a stablecoin.
